Christopher Scott “Scottro” Harbison

Scott was born on July 07, 1966 and passed away in his sleep from a heart attack on June 12, 2019. He was 52.

Scott was an avid backpacker, hiker and loved his firearms. He was a member of the infamous Lane Lops of Santa Barbara—a highly popular group of teenagers who used to meet at San Marcos Lanes and hang out on Old San Marcos Pass, the top of Northridge drive, Goleta Beach, Painted Cave road, and at various friends houses in Hope Ranch.

In high school Scott loved working on has ’69 Camaro SS and street racing down Ward Memorial Boulevard in Goleta. He was well known for building a popular hangout with Eric Thomas called “The Barn.” His friends would be waiting for him at “The Barn” to get off work so they could party all night.

Scott got a job as an electrician at the age of 16 working for Hammond Electric. Throughout the years he worked for various electrical companies in Santa Barbara and Goleta. He later moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and started his own business, named after his daughter, Ruby Electric.

Scott is preceded in death my his dad, his mother Judith Welsh, his step-dad Tom Welsh, his brother Daryll and his wife Barbara, He is survived by his sister Rebecca Smith and a daughter whom he cherished and raised with Carice Demchok, Ruby F. Murray-Harbison.
